Nico C., 10, of Plano, Texas, knows what it means to make a difference in his community and his world. Nico, has been actively involved in MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS as a "special agent doing God's work" since 1st grade, working on a wide variety of mission projects both locally and worldwide to help others in need.
So, when he heard that a local food pantry had been flooded on Christmas Eve by broken water pipes, the same food pantry that his MPKids chapter had collected food for in October, Nico and his family jumped in to help. Because all of the food at Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano had been ruined, there was a lot to be done, so Nico recruited a friend to help. Add in a few older MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS alums, and the group collected food from everyone they knew. Later they helped clean out the flooded pantry and restock the shelves.
Why did Nico and crew want to spend part of Christmas break to help? It's what they've learned from being a part of the MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS program--you can make a difference in the world no matter how old you are. |
